Gradation

We are exploring gradations today to help better understand how to shade forms to give the appearance of 3-dimensions. We completed a gradation practice sheet to prep for future projects 🙂

“Gradation is a drawing or painting technique in which there is a gradual change from a tone/color into another tone/color.  Gradation is used in drawing to create forms that appear three-dimensional.” -Creative Art Glossary

Following the gradation level students received a sheet similar to the one above to practice adding gradients to create a 3-D effect on the forms.
